Agricultural Tour Armenia offers our travellers to discover different kinds of farms in small villages, take part in the process of picking fruits and vegetables with villagers, making homemade vodka and wine out of various fruits or understand the process of making typical Armenian cheese. This tour is very exciting and educative for kids and at the same time allows you to discover real organic goods of Armenia.
From Yerevan, we head to Lori Region to reach Vahagni village. Here we enjoy a full day to find out the Armenian village life and take part in the process of producing cheese, sour cream and matsun (Armenian yogurt), baking bread. We visit animal farms (cows, sheep, pigs, horses, bees). Having lunch and dinner in a host family, we enjoy the taste of the food produced and made in this particular village.
From Vahagni we move on to Lermontovo village. The inhabitants of this area are a Russian minority called Molokan. Molokans are most famous for producing cow milk, which is how they got named like this. Lermontovo is also known for its cabbage and carrot gardens. In this community, we discover their way of living and have their typical lunch.
We then go to Lake Sevan and have free time enjoying the untouched beauty and pure water of our motherland. Afterwards we reach Noratus village for dinner and overnight.
From Noratus we head to the south of Armenia and visit Areni village where we come across the variety of fruit gardens: grape, apricot, peach, pear, apple and different kinds of berries. Here we take part in picking up fruits and vegetables with locals and have lunch with a host family. We taste homemade vodka and wine to compare the tastes between north and south. Afterwards we visit the local wine factory to discover the secrets of wine making and have wine tasting.
Afterwards we go back to Yerevan.
